5 STARS!
First time to write a review and I want everyone to know that Karen at Camillo’s Fine Jewelry and the staff did such an amazing job fixing a bracelet and earrings that I brought in. Could not be happier with their work. More importantly than their work was their customer service. Karen was kind, knowledgeable, listened and went above and beyond. I will be a customer for life! #supportlocalbusiness!

4Cs Diamond Guide
Cut is the most important of the 4Cs. It describes how well a diamond is shaped and proportioned to reflect light. Even a perfect stone won’t shine without a great cut.
Why it matters:
- Controls brilliance (brightness), fire (color flashes), and scintillation (sparkle).
- A well-cut diamond looks larger and more alive.
- Poor cut = dull or dark center, even with high color/clarity.
Grades: Excellent / Ideal (best) • Very Good • Good • Fair • Poor
Our recommendation: Choose Excellent or Ideal for maximum brilliance.
Color measures how colorless a diamond is. The less body color, the rarer and more valuable the stone.
Scale:
- D–F: Colorless — rare, icy-white brilliance
- G–H: Near Colorless — excellent value, appear white to the eye
- I–J: Slightly Warm — subtle warmth, good size-to-price ratio
Tip: Most shoppers choose G–H for a white look at a better value. Setting metal can influence perception (yellow/rose gold hides warmth).
Carat measures a diamond’s weight, not its dimensions. Two diamonds of the same carat can look different depending on cut proportions.
What affects perceived size:
- Cut quality
- Diamond shape (oval, pear, marquise appear larger than round)
- Setting style (halo or thin band increases visual size)
Common sizes: 1.00 ct • 1.50 ct • 2.00 ct • 2.50 ct
Tip: A well-cut 0.90 ct can look nearly identical to a 1.00 ct — but at a better value.
Clarity describes the tiny inclusions or blemishes inside a diamond. Most are invisible without magnification and don’t affect beauty.
Scale:
- FL–IF: Flawless / Internally Flawless
- VVS1–VVS2: Very, Very Slightly Included — hard to see at 10×
- VS1–VS2: Very Slightly Included — eye-clean, best value
- SI1–SI2: Slightly Included — some inclusions may be visible
- I1–I3: Included — visible inclusions
Tip: A lower-clarity diamond with excellent cut often looks better than a high-clarity diamond with poor cut.
